Our Panelization & Engineering Process in Melbourne, FL

process

Our Manufacturing Process

Shield Wall Systems of Florida meets the need for quick and high-quality construction by offering efficient panel manufacturing and fabrication solutions. We focus on maximizing project schedules and keeping costs down. Our prefabricated assemblies include exterior metal stud wall systems with vapor barriers, metal roof truss systems, and structural floor systems.

Due to a shortage of skilled labor and a growing demand for fast, quality construction, there is a shift towards constructing component manufacturing. Shield Wall Systems of Florida's off-site construction uses the latest panel manufacturing technology to provide the most efficient solutions. Our ultimate goal is to deliver quality components.

steel fabrication

At Shield Wall Systems of Florida, we provide tailored architectural and engineering solutions to meet your project needs. Our designs adhere to local codes and exceed industry standards, including LEED requirements for sustainability.

We offer various cold-formed steel (CFS) paneling fabrication solutions, including wall panelization, floor truss, and roof joist systems. After CFS framing, we provide sheathing options like zip board, Mega board, and Fusion boards for added quality and durability.

Wall Panelization

Wall panelization, whether load-bearing or non-load-bearing, revolutionizes construction by prefabricating walls in controlled environments for on-site assembly. Load-bearing panels support the entire structure, offering strength, stability, and versatility in design.

Non-load-bearing panels create interior divisions efficiently, allowing for quick installation and customization. Both methods enhance construction efficiency, reduce labor costs, and accelerate project completion

Floor Truss

Floor trusses made from cold-formed steel, accompanied by engineered stamped drawings, provide a structurally sound, flexible, and cost-effective solution in construction. They are lightweight, easy to handle, and quick to install, leading to significant time and cost savings.

Additionally, the use of recyclable materials and adherence to engineering standards make them a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice in construction projects.

Roof Joist

Roof joists made from cold-formed steel, with engineered stamped drawings, provide essential structural support, design flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in construction projects.

They are lightweight, durable, and prefabricated, allowing for quick installation, reducing construction time, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.

Zip Board

Zip Board, an exterior gypsum sheathing, plays a vital role in panelized and cold-formed steel construction. It provides structural support, acts as a weather-resistant and vapor barrier, offers fire resistance, supports insulation, and ensures quality control when manufactured in controlled facilities.

Mega Board

MEGA-BOARD, a Miami-Dade approved concrete composite sub-flooring decking material, is integral to cold-formed steel and panelization construction. It offers strong structural support, composite action with concrete, excellent fire and moisture resistance, energy efficiency, and suitability for prefabricated panels. Its Miami-Dade approval attests to its reliability, making it a valuable choice for construction in areas with strict building codes and extreme weather conditions.

MEGABOARD is an inorganic cementitious panel reinforced with a unique six-layer fiberglass mesh for superb performance on the metrics which matter – strength, weight, durability, workability, dimensional stability, fire resistance, sound insulation, and more. It can be used for subfloor and wall sheathing applications in place of plywood, OSB, gypsum sheathing, and lightweight concrete pour.

Fusion Board

Fusion board delivers 4-in-1 performance by “fusing” four layers of building materials into a single structural wall panel. Structural sheathing & integrated masonry backing ensures exceptional design and strength and is compatible with most exterior claddings.

Offers a range of insulation thicknesses to receive optimal energy efficiency and thermal performance. Seams are sealed with composite laminate tape to create a continuous air and water barrier. FusionBoard offers a R-5 Insulation Value per inch.

Additional benefits

No Bad Weather Delays Or Related Costs

Bad weather often results in delays and shifts in the schedule for traditional framing. With CFS framing, panels are manufactured offsite in a controlled environment which ensures continuity of the project and consistency in quality.

In addition, bad weather could add costs to a project such as rain delays that occur in the Southeast and in return it cost the General Contractor delays in construction schedules that result in liquidated damages. These costs are not associated with CFS framing and quality controlled manufacturing.
